Title: Live A Live
Platform: Switch
Genre: RPG
Language: Japanese, English
Company: Square Enix
Summary: Significantly better than I thought it’d be, after some dulling experiences with Squenix’s modern pixel games in general. But this one’s a big remastering of an old SNES title, and another good one to add to the resume after FF7:CCR

Big kudos to raising Akira out of joke status, I am a big fan

Title: Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core Reunion
Platform: PC
Genre: Action RPG
Language: Japanese
Company: Square Enix
Summary: HQ Remaster of the PSP game, which was my first PSP game ever! Hello again, Gackt/Genesis.

A solid, enjoyable remaster. They nerfed Costly Punch apparently, but not enough to kick it off top tier move lol.

Title: Triangle Strategy
Platform: Switch
Genre: Strategy RPG
Language: Japanese
Company: Artdink, Square Enix
Summary: Full backseat mode watching hubby play this one. Some peeps in the FE community got very hype and all about this, but… no it’s nothing to be excited for tbh.

Title: NEO The World Ends With You
Platform: Switch
Genre: Action RPG
Language: Japanese/English
Company: Square Enix
Summary: Long awaited sequel to TWEWY.~ This wait has been quite well worth it. Cleared main story in around 50 hrs, taking my time doing whatever sidequests and such along the way.
Black Cat ensemble and all Secret Reports in 70 hrs. Still some things to do!
Will write more details when I feel like it.

Title: Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII ライトニング リターンズ ファイナルファンタジーXIII
Platform: PS3
Genre: RPG
Language: Japanese
Company: Square Enix
Summary: Mm, I was originally going to wait on this like I did for XIII-2, but then I saw that the battle system is closer to Type-0… Putting some faith in you here, Squenix!!

I wish foremost that they didn’t call the lowest difficult mode “Easy”, the tiers should start at “Normal” and then “Hard” and then something like “Insanity” for the unlockable.

Title: Final Fantasy XIII-2 (Final Fantasy 13-2)
Console: PS3
Genre: RPG
Language: Japanese
Company: Square Enix
Summary: Lesson learned from XIII is to wait until I could get this game for dirt cheap. I waited to get the jp version brand new for $30.

But the game still comes to $50+ after getting all the DLC I’m interested in (the extra episodes plus Lightning character). Dammit Squenix this is why I can’t give you perfect scores lately no matter how fanciful your graphics and junk are.

Title: Final Fantasy Type-0 (ファイナルファンタジー零式)
Console: PSP
Genre: Action RPG
Language: Japanese
Company: Square Enix
Summary: First off the bat, this title renews my faith in the Final Fantasy series a bit, since lately I’d been somewhat unimpressed compared with the hype. This title actually follows through with the hype for the most part.

Finished my 2nd playthrough. I must suck since I didn’t get the alternate ending even though I picked the 2nd choice for all those creepy red screens, so I ended up just watching it on Tudou. >_> Will probably end up creeping slowly around my 3rd playthrough with a guide to get all the side junk I missed. Thank goodness just about everything carries over.

Title: Dissidia 012
Console: PSP
Genre: RPG
Language: Japanese
Company: Square Enix
Summary: I’ll get to this eventually. XD I played the original Dissidia quite a bit, and I thought the battle system was very refreshing and innovative. But I guess most of that thrill has worn off already and I haven’t found myself very motivated to play this sequel. I did watch the new cutscenes, and… I guess that’s most of the game for me.
