Title: Yakuza 7: Like a Dragon
Platform: PC
Genre: Turn-based RPG
Language: Japanese
Company: Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, SEGA
Summary:
After the entire Kiryu saga, I had plenty of reservations about a new gen of Yakuza, with a change from action to turn-based combat to exacerbate my concerns. Still…

Title: Yakuza 0 – 6
Platform: PC
Genre: Action RPG
Language: Japanese
Company: Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, SEGA
Summary: The entire Yakuza Kiryu saga is the perfect dose of Masaru manliness + stupid + wholesome content I’ve been hungering since Digimon Savers ended in 2007. So blessed and I will treasure it forever… thank you Ryu Ga Gotoku studio and all involved.

I’m perfectly Smiling face with happy with the ending even if some are salty that it wasn’t some other way in their boohoo headcanons. If anything, I just need more Majima content which will surely happen anyway.

Title: Tales of Arise テイルズ オブ アライズ
Platform: PC
Genre: Action RPG
Language: Japanese
Company: Bandai Namco
Summary: Took 5 years since Berseria to get to this.
Arise 100% in 70 hours, uhh I thought Xillia was the easiest to 100% but I’d say this wasn’t even half the effort D: Tales??

Title: Trials of Mana
Platform: PC/Switch
Genre: Action RPG
Language: Japanese/English
Company: Square Enix
Summary: I played the original SNES games for Mana dozens of times each and loved every moment. Secret of Mana remake was only so-so impressive, but this one did a much better job overall, despite not having couch coop anymore.

Title: Ni no Kuni 2
Platform: PSP
Genre: Action RPG
Language: Japanese
Company: Bandai Namco
Summary: Err I played this sometime early in 2019 I think? I completely forgot to write up a review for it probably because I was too preoccupied with other things later on, nothing particularly big or anything though. I think the game took me around 35-40 hours doing the same as I did for the original game, doing whatever sidequests I could do that didn’t involve too much extra work.

Title: Tales of Berseria テイルズ オブ ベルセリア
Platform: PS3/PS4/PC
Genre: Action RPG
Language: Japanese
Company: Bandai Namco
Summary: I’ll admit overall I did like this a bit more than the mess that was Zestiria, but it was still NOWHERE NEAR as good as any of the previous Tales games in most terms x_x; I appreciated some things, but mostly still hated a lot of it. Lists behind the cut…

Title: Undertale
Platform: PC (Steam)
Genre: RPG
Language: English
Company: Toby Fox
Summary: Zelda is usually the uncontested winner for Gamefaqs game of the year bracket polls, but Undertale winning 2015 surprised me. I was suspicious when it happened, but after going through it in 2016, I see that it’s pretty legit.

I’ve heard wind of the craziness of the fandom for Undertale so I’m going to stay away from that as much as I can, so that I can appreciate the game in its purity~ Under construction~

Title: Tales of Zestiria テイルズ オブ ゼスティリア
Platform: PS3, PC, PS4
Genre: Action RPG
Language: Japanese
Company: Namco Bandai
Summary: Bottom line is–This has 1 and a half star ratings out of 5 on AmazonJP and for legit reasons imo. Please, DO NOT make this your first Tales experience if you have the opportunity to play any of the other PS3 Tales instead. Forget the Alisha drama, my biggest beef with this series has everything to do with everything else about the game and THEN the lack of Alisha. That’s how bad it is.
