Title: Trials of Mana
Platform: PC/Switch
Genre: Action RPG
Language: Japanese/English
Company: Square Enix
Summary: I played the original SNES games for Mana dozens of times each and loved every moment. Secret of Mana remake was only so-so impressive, but this one did a much better job overall, despite not having couch coop anymore.

Title: Ni no Kuni 2
Platform: PSP
Genre: Action RPG
Language: Japanese
Company: Bandai Namco
Summary: Err I played this sometime early in 2019 I think? I completely forgot to write up a review for it probably because I was too preoccupied with other things later on, nothing particularly big or anything though. I think the game took me around 35-40 hours doing the same as I did for the original game, doing whatever sidequests I could do that didn’t involve too much extra work.

Title: Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore 幻影異聞録♯FE
Platform: PSP
Genre: Otome
Language: Japanese
Company: Atlus
Summary: Big fat LOL to all the people who refuse to try this game because of the “censoring” they did for the Encore version. The only things they left out are unnecessary horny things that didn’t need to be in the game in the first place.

Title: Pokemon Sword & Shield
Platform: Switch
Genre: RPG
Language: Japanese, English
Company: Gamefreak, Nintendo
Summary: I’m as disappointed as the next collector that the dex isn’t full but I still bought Sword (at a HUGE discount, I would not buy at full price) and I still intend to play it… speedrun style, and then go straight back to Fire Emblem Three Houses afterwards. I can’t believe they won’t even let you catch Pokemon that are above level of your gym badge limit.

So the run is done… 17 hrs and I’ve beaten Leon at the post-game Battle Tower.

Overall, I’m very disenchanted by the whole franchise from this gen, seeing as they’ve ditched Mega Evolutions for this dynamax junk. They probably thought Mega Evos were too broken for the meta, but they needed something to replace it, so they put in this more mindless version instead. ???

Not going to buy the DLC as it’s not worth the $30 price. I even got Sword at a discounted $30 price and don’t feel like it’s worth it. It’s even more insulting that Sword and Shield have separate DLC versions too. Don’t see enough people complaining about it when Fire Emblem Fates Conquest/Birthright had a single combined DLC price for Revelations. And people complain about not getting their worth in 3H’s DLC too, but I’m guessing almost none of those complainers bothered doing a new game run with Ashen Wolves in there.

Title: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Faiā Emuburemu Fūkasetsugetsu (Japanese: ファイアーエムブレム 風花雪月)
Platform: Switch
Genre: SRPG
Language: Japanese
Company: Intelligent Systems, Nintendo
Summary: Director Kasukihara wasn’t kidding when he said one House takes 80 hrs. I started off with Golden Deer (Claude) and have done all four routes in order of Golden Deer > Church > Blue Lions > Edelgard. My “final” New game+ with ALL THE THINGS (all students, etc) will be on my everlasting favorite–Golden Deer. But I do love all the houses to some extent and I’ll be doing a TON of replays (all on Maddening from now on) anyway.

The games were kind of Otome RPG-esque since Awakening, but WOW they stepped it up even more for this one. SUCH OTOME RPG (for Claude).

Genre: SRPG

Summary: Doing a proper playthrough for Tellius after my ignoramus runthrough back in 2010. Naturally, enjoying it a lot more this time!
