Title: Final Fantasy Type-0 (ファイナルファンタジー零式)
Console: PSP
Genre: Action RPG
Language: Japanese
Company: Square Enix
Summary: First off the bat, this title renews my faith in the Final Fantasy series a bit, since lately I’d been somewhat unimpressed compared with the hype. This title actually follows through with the hype for the most part.
Finished my 2nd playthrough. I must suck since I didn’t get the alternate ending even though I picked the 2nd choice for all those creepy red screens, so I ended up just watching it on Tudou. >_> Will probably end up creeping slowly around my 3rd playthrough with a guide to get all the side junk I missed. Thank goodness just about everything carries over.

Title: Tales of the Abyss
Console: PS2, Nintendo 3DS (port)
Genre: Tales of the Abyss
Language: Japanese
Company: Bandai Namco
Summary: My first 3DS game purchase! I watched the anime when it aired in Japan and enjoyed it. But since I know the story already, I might get sidetracked while I play this .___.; I did spend a hefty dollar to get the game though, so I’ll be sure to enjoy every dollar it’s worth eventually~ Luke \o/
10 years later I end up just emulating it on PS2 to get 60fps and 4k graphics. :V Finished the game for real this time though, instead of stopping somewhere after Yulia City, I believe.

Title: Tales of Xillia
Console: PS3
Genre: Action RPG, Fantasy
Language: Japanese
Company: Namco
Summary: 100% Platinum Trophy in around 100 hours.
And in the far future I will probably then bother with a third replay to re-enjoy the story with max grade.
Various light spoilers in the reviews, but as usual I stay away from any major spoilers. Ffff, I ship Jude/Milla so hard.

Title: Danball Senki (ダンボール戦機)
Console: PSP, 3DS
Genre: Action RPG
Language: Japanese
Company: Level-5
Summary: I’ve beaten the main story 3 times, once in the original game, once in Boost and 3rd time for Boost New Game+. I started a Baku Boost run but did not complete, will probably finish it sometime in the future when I have the time and GREAT URGE to come back to it, which will happen at some point for sure. Overall, I know that Baku Boost is pretty much an absolute port of Boost on PSP with the addition of… one LBX that doesn’t make much of a difference? I don’t even remember anymore.
As usual, LEVEL-5 proves itself to be an awesome GAME company rather than being in the background staff for producing anime. Unfortunately, most non-Japanese-speakers tend to be limited by only getting exposure from their anime and assuming that’s all there is to the company. Never ever.

Title: Saigo no Yakusoku no Monogatari (最後の約束の物語)
Console: PSP
Genre: RPG
Language: Japanese
Company: ImageEpoch
Summary: (copy/pasted) Become the head of the Messiah knights and save your country from complete ruin. There is only one way to turn the situation around; activate the last source of magic by exchanging the Last Vows. Yet before you can use such powers, you have to battle the massive steel monsters that infest your skies and are killing off your troops and ordinary civilians. Create perfect strategies and be careful when you pit your people against your foes, because you can’t revive them once they die.
Everybody has a gauge, this determines the skills you can use, but if you use it up, your warrior dies. Use your power to protect your people and in some way, choose who to sacrifice.
Dark, epic and stunning, Saigo no Yakusoku no Monogatari has exciting fight scenes and brutal choices.

I had a LOT of reservations seeing the filesize (350mb uncompressed, 250 compressed…), but I love Kurahana Chinatsu’s art and the cast made it irresistable for me to at least try it. More after the cut…

Title: Tales of the World Radiant Mythology 3 テイルズ オブ ザ ワールド レディアント マイソロジー3
Console: PSP
Genre: RPG (Action), Fantasy
Language: Japanese
Company: Namco
Summary: Thanks to gamefaqs contributors, I started with a New Game+ to save myself a whole ton of grinding. XD; Despite having so many all-star characters to play with, I have a lot more fun playing the PS3 Tales titles, so I really didn’t want to take the time to grind. Thanks, contributors
Finished the main plot.

Genre: Action RPG, Fantasy
Language: Japanese
Company: Namco
Summary: Currently at around 200 hours of gameplay, I’m on my fourth run which might be my last even though I STILL didn’t get every grade shop upgrade I wanted. ORZ Maybe in a decade later if things are still moving along, I’ll feel the nostalgia enough to pull through a fifth playthrough. XD It’s one of those good ones.

Genre: Action RPG
Language: Japanese / English
Company: Marvelous
Summary: Yocchin playing more oni characters XD~ Kisuke 鬼助~
Despite being “RPG”, besides leveling up and gathering inventory, it’s mostly action still. XD; But the movements are so FLUID and graphics so PRETTY and music so AWESOME it makes the adrenaline I usually dislike fully worth it. Plus yocchin <3

Overall: 6. After being spoiled with the character offerings from Fire Emblem 7 and the other GBA games, this was quite a turn backward for me. I especially don’t appreciate the lack of availability of the characters (many of the useful characters will be unavailable for dispatch for like half of the entire game), and without a guide, it becomes an ultimate chore to pull through. I don’t really care about the continuing story from the Gamecube game. It just wasn’t that fun.
